little early this time
She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms.
well i think this is a little obvious, don't be a weakling! lol
so don't let yourself get fat and lazy, and if your there work on getting out of the slump. ( speaking of no one in particular, just know that it can happen before you know it)
anyway i have another bible study topic for when we finish Porverb's 31 try 1 peter 3? on being a good wife, and although most of us arn't wives yet we will be in the future.
God bless

Sorry late agin please forgive
CHALENGE #5 jan 17th-24thVerse 16
"She considereth a field, and buyeth it; with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard."
well... being wise with our money, making good investments, buying a house for example.
having a veggie garden, perhaps or an apple tree, lots of canning in the fall, but think of all that money you'll save buying veggies in the winter, and late summer.
any comments?
suggestions?
do you have more insight in this verse?
please tell.

january 2007 8th - 15

thank you sunny!
It's awesome to see some real feedback I am glad that you find this so helpful!
God was really pressing it on my heart to do this.
I am a little late for the update one the next verse but I am sure you will all forgive me.
Okay this week is a big challenge, it comes from verse 15
She also arises while it is yet night
and provides food for her household
and a portion for her maidservants.
in these winter months (here in the north) its not so hard to rise before the sun, but as you know the sun can rise as early as four in the summer, so unless you decide it is a good plan to always rise before the sun then i suggest you set a time and do you best to always rise at this time, remember the later you stay up the harder it is to get up in the morning. most Dr.'s suggest an average of 6-8 hrs of sleep a day.
we have already worked on the food ( or at least i hope we have ;) ) so continue last week's challenge on through this one.
I suppose the preparing a portion for you handmaids, would mean taking care of your servants, so unless you have servants I don't know what to say of this part.
any suggestions, insights and corrections would be most welcome

This Prov. 31 challenge Thea put out to us girls really hit home for me, as a "young bride" adjusting to a totally new life of location, people, church, organizing, work, cooking, scheduling, entertaining, shopping.... life at large! When I think about it too much, it tends to has an overwhelming effect. Taking this passage of Scripture and applying it bit by bit to my daily life is a fabulous idea to help me focus on certain areas instead of shooting myself down for little things I feel I could be better at.
Steve and I had Christmas here in GP, just the two of us. (we resolved that for at least our first year as a married couple we would keep our holidays for us, and not go "home" to either his parents' nor mine...) It was really good to plan and oganize our special day. Steve says I did a good job, so that makes me feel satisfied, too. I think keeping this passage in mind helped me to remember a lot of the little things are not a big deal, and I found many ways of saving money while still preparing a delicious menu. Sometimes traditions can be broken to start something new and wonderful.
Thanks to 'Thea for the reminders to strive to be a Proverbs 31 woman; she is a lovely young woman and a true inspiration to me in many respects. God bless!
:-)
PS: Happy New Year!
